Greetings everyone. Finally a day of nothing else on the schedule so I have no excuses for not setting down and writind a blog entry!
My husband, for whom writing is a real chore and something scary, is always amazed that I’m not just cranking out tons of essays and writing books one after the other. My reply to that is, “Well just because I can write well and with relative ease that does not make me a writer!”
A writer in my estimation is someone for whom writing is just a natural extension of themselves. They can’t help themselves, it’s just part of who they are and how they express themselves. That’s not me. I write for a purpose, because there are things I want to share with people, not because I love to write or because I feel an internal drive to do it. In many ways, writing is a painful process, as any creative endeavor can be, and so I have to be at a place internally where what I feel the need to share is compelling enough to get me over the resistance hump and into writing mode.
Such is the case with this week’s topic. As I have been reaching out to more & more new people and introducing them to the Christa Healing Method® and the Spiritual Energy Attunements that I offer, I’m often asked questions like, “How does this fit with traditional understandings of Christianity?” Or “Can I still receive this kind of healing and do the energy attunements and still be a part of my church or religious tradition?”
And even though I understand where these questions are coming from and why people ask them, my first instinctual response - true to my Type 3 nature - is impatience! Which is really funny coming from someone who has questioned things her whole life, especially when it comes to religion and God and all that business!
But, as a close friend pointed out to me the other evening, I've been exploring these types of questions all my life. In my childhood I took religion classes and the practicing of my Catholic faith very seriously, certainly beyond just going through the outer motions of things. I needed to understand WHY we did this or did that and if it did not make any logical or purposeful sense to me, I tended to decide for myself whether I would continue a certain practice or adhere to a certain belief or church teaching or not.
This kind of questioning and exploring continued during my undergraduate and graduate studies of theology where one is exposed to the philosophical underpinnings and world views from which different religious and spiritual traditions operate. A study of theology also involves studying the history of religious practices, traditions and teachings and coming to understand all of the cultural and political factors that influence the formation of religious structures, doctrines and dogmas. In my studies, I also became keenly aware of the difference between “religion” and “spirituality.”
My questioning and exploring skills were further honed in the early years of my spiritual expansion when I was introduced to things like yoga, meditation, alternative healing, new age thought and quantum physics and the idea that everything is energy and vibration. So by the time I was introduced to the work of Adriene Wentworth, the developer of the Christa Healing Method and the spiritual conduit who brought through the Christa Energy and the AnaMata Energy, I was an old hand at the questioning and exploring and assessing process.
By this time I’d also moved into a place where I could no longer in good conscience be a proponent or defender of many of the components and teachings of traditional Christianity and Catholicism. I am forever grateful for the FOUNDATION that my religious upbringing and my study of theology provided for me. And, I am very aware and appreciative of the many, many good parts of Christianity and Catholicism. But I am also keenly aware of the short-comings, weaknesses and limitations. And when I see weakness or limitation or short-comings, I challenge and I become a willing explorer, what in archetypal language would be called a Seeker of Truth.
As a Seeker of Truth I want to know Truth and I want to live by Truth. This means I’m willing to be introduced to a new idea -- even a new life-altering paradigm -- and look at it, find out more about it, explore it, try it on for size and see how it fits and see for myself whether or not it FEELS TRUE to me. And I make this assessment from a cultivated sense of confidence and trust in my own abilities - AND in MY OWN GOD-GIVEN RIGHT to know and to decide what’s right for me.
And so when something new comes into my awareness and it FEELS TRUE and RIGHT to me, I am then willing to make room for this new information, this new awareness and LET IT EXPAND my understanding of my own self and all the other components of my life so that I literally see with new eyes and hear with a new heart. This is an exciting process to me and I could not imagine living and being any other way.
Yet, I think what my good friend was trying to tell me the other evening is that most people are probably not as comfortable with this questioning and exploring and truth seeking process as I am. For many people being introduce to something new or unfamiliar can feel very scary and uncomfortable. Most components of our society and our religious and spiritual traditions do not encourage questioning and exploring; instead, they tend to require or “encourage” compliance.
In other words, my friend was saying, “Julia, take a compassionate stance rather than an impatient one when people ask questions about how Christa Healing fits with people’s traditional understandings of religion and spirituality.” And she’s right and I do do that as I am working one-on-one with people and questions and concerns arise.
And yet I also know that it is not my “job” to create a generalized “bridge language” for others to help them understand the differences and commonalities between traditional understandings of religion and spirituality and Christa Healing and a Christed Being spiritual path that was revealed to Adriene Wentworth and which she has shared with others, a path that I have personally experienced as a more authentic and more fully developed means for truly following in the footsteps of Jesus of Nazareth than what any of the traditional Christian religions or spiritualities currently teach.
It is my job to witness Truth to people as I have experienced it and to help those who are willing to open to the reality that they are so much more than ALL the traditional religions and spiritualities teach. As a Spiritual Energy Healing and Teacher, it is my job to help those willing and open Souls to HEAL and to make the changes in their lives and in their self understanding so that they can expand and grow into a fully empowered Being that God created them to be and which Jesus of Nazareth demonstrated as achievable by ALL God’s sons and daughters.
I tell people that the Christa Healing Method® and the Christed Being Path that was shown to Adriene Wentworth and which she has shared and taught to others are built upon the foundations of several spiritual and healing traditions including yoga, Christianity and shamanism.
And yet this spiritual healing method and this spiritual path go so far beyond those traditions. AND they needed to go beyond them in order to be currently relevant to the needs that humanity and the Earth are now facing! We are in new, never explored territory when it comes to the transformational shifts that are happening within our consciousness and to our bodies and to and upon our planet.
I am so grateful that Adriene Wentworth, who is not famous nor well-known by anyone other than her clients and students, responded to the needs she saw in herself and in her clients AND was willing to stand in faith and ask God and Spirit for help. Even more, time and again she has opened herself to God and to Spirit to receive and to share the NEW TOOLS and NEW UNDERSTANDINGS that have been shown to her.
Instead of seeking fame and fortune, she has diligently and carefully developed and worked with these powerful healing and spiritual development tools so that they are effective and workable for the people who use them. I have personally experienced the effectiveness of these tools and have healed deeper and expanded further in my gifts and abilities as a spiritual being than I could have imagined possible in one lifetime - and I’m not even close to being finished with my personal journey.
Furthermore, as a Spiritual Energy Healer and Teacher myself, I have witnessed tremendous growth and empowerment in my clients and students. I have seen people’s lives transformed in deeply positive ways because of their willingness to open and expand spiritually beyond the confines of the limited and limiting parameters found in many traditional religious and spiritual teachings.
I often tell the story that when I was in graduate school, the professor I had for a class called “Constructive Theology” remarked that my overall theology was virtually devoid of a Christology. In other words it basically contained no theological or doctrinal language related to Jesus as the Christ (e.g., Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins). And he was right. That was because by this point in my personal exploration of faith and theology, virtually nothing that has been taught about Jesus -- and especially the language used about him -- made any sense to me. I saw the holes, I saw the misalignments and I nothing I’d come across so far had rung True for me -- until I meet Adriene and started to learn about her experiences with Jesus and healing and her explorations of the true spiritual journey.
In broadest terms, the healing and spiritual development tools that Adriene Wentworth has developed are aids to
a Process for Spiritual Mastery and for Becoming a Christed Being*. For those who feel the call to Serve and Witness as Jesus did, this process and these tools can help them undergo the same deep healing and transformational process that Jesus underwent so that he could be fully aligned with Divine Will and truly able demonstrate God’s Power and Love in our physical world, to show us what it means to be God-incarnate, God in physical form.
This broadened understanding of who Jesus was and what he was here to do completely changes the meaning of the “second coming of Christ.” In other words, the second coming of Christ is really in our hands. It is literally about the willingness of each person on this planet to undergo the transformational process needed to reach and to live from the level of Christ Consciousness so that we can truly create Heaven on Earth.
This is my Christology. This is the connection I see between the healing and spiritual development tools that I offer my clients and the most authentic and truest parts of traditional Christianity. From my experience, the Christ Healing Method® and being able work with and gain the benefits of the Christa Energy and AnaMata Energy offer people a REAL, PROVEN pathway for accomplishing that goal, of being able to do what Jesus did and more. And in the world of someone who leads with a Type 3 energy expression like I do, that gives these tools a lot of credibility!
Namaste,
Julia
